Marke: Ein Jahrhundert Leuchtenbau von Midgard:1919 - Midgard wurde 1919 in Auma / Thüringen vom Ingenieur Curt Fischer gegründet. Entstanden aus dem eigenen Bedarf für seine Maschinenfabrik IWA Ronneberger Fischer (Industriewerk Auma), entwickelte Curt Fischer Scheren- und Gelenkleuchten. Er damit gilt als der Erfinder des ´lenkbaren Lichtes´. Die damals verbreiteten, von der Decke hängenden Leuchtenschirme spendeten nur statisches Licht von oben und waren dem Unternehmer damit als zu unflexibel aufgefallen. Diese Art der Beleuchtung verursachte, dass die Arbeiter teils ihre Werkstücke selbst verschatteten. Curt Fischer zeichnete und baute erste Prototypen von Gelenkleuchten, indem er das Strom-führende Kabel durch Rohre führte und Gelenke zwischen den Röhren entwickelte. Er perfektionierte das System, entwickelte zahlreiche mehrarmige Tisch-, Arbeits- und Wandleuchten und wandelte sich innerhalb weniger Jahre zum Leuchtenproduzenten, den er Midgard (in der Sage die von den Menschen bewohnte helle Mittelerde) nannte. Seine Entwürfe wurden schon früh u.a. von Walter Gropius entdeckt und geschätzt und im Bauhaus eingesetzt. Gropius förderte die Entwicklungen Fischers, die Briefwechsel sind im Original erhalten.
Die Nachkriegszeit
Curt Fischer verstirbt 1956, sein Sohn Wolfgang übernimmt die Betriebsleitung im Sinne seines Vaters. Bis in die spätern 60er Jahre produzierte Midgard seine mittlerweile drei Leuchtenserien: -die historischen Lenklampen, welche u.a. im Bauhaus eingesetzt wurden -die robuste und modulare wie auch wartungsfreie Maschinenleuchte -die Federzugleuchte Midgard in der DDR In der Zeit der Enteignung (1971) in der DDR produzierte Midgard als VEB Raumleuchte weiterhin die Maschinen und Federzugleuchte, u.a. als Lieferant von IKEA. Durch die Zusammenführung mit anderen Leuchtenbaubetrieben entstand der grösste Ostdeutsche Leuchtenhersteller. Im VEB-Betrieb war der Sohn Curt Fischers, Wolfgang Fischer Betriebsleiter.

Diese wunderschöne DDRG AUMA zählt zu den Nachkriegsentwürfen. Sie wurde komplett zerlegt, gereinigt, von Rost befreit und mit einem Antirost Schutz Klarlack isoliert. Dabei haben wir uns bemüht die zum Teil kräftige Original Patina zu erhalten. Alle vorhandenen Originalteile wurden dabei wieder verwendet.
Die Leuchte besticht durch ihre Wendigkeit und Flexibilität. Der Drehkippschalter befindet sich am Dom des Schirmes. Neu ist die Verkabelung (2-adrig), die durch ein schwarzes Gummikabel ersetzt wurde. Die Wandhalterung hat den Durchmesser von 8cm und wird mittels 2 Schrauben an Wand oder Tischplatte befestigt.
